If you take a look at the trip that I created, you'll see that the planner introduced a trip to Bastia on Corse; but I have not been there.

No matter how I moved pin number 22, it either planned via Bastia or without the ferry at all, i.e. all the way across the west coast of Italy.

What's wrong there?

Hi Tobias,

gpx is really awkward for us to handle..

Please share:
- the request which produced the problem and/or
- a screenshot of maps.openrouteservice.org highlighting the trip and settings
- a sound explanation of the problem (no idea what pin 22 should be)

Thanks
Nils

Oh, after loading the file again I see what you mean by awkward. What format would be easier to handle?

Problem for me is, I would have to recreate the whole thing, and that took a good 30 minutes. I made a minimal example here:

  • With pin 22 I meant the one in the harbor of Genoa, if that link works for you, it would now be number 1.
  • If by “request” you mean some API call, there was none. I just clicked-assembled a track.
  • In the screenshot you can see that the route goes Olbia > Genoa > Bastia > Vado Ligure > Bolzaneto instead of the expected Olbia > Genoa > Bolzaneto with two ferry rides fewer.

Hi Tobias,

somehow the road network in the port of genoa is not connected to the roadnetwork.
This could be due to some restrictions of specific roads.
As you can see in this example, you can not get to the outside of the port on any of the shown roads.
http://maps.openrouteservice.org/directions?n1=44.409267&n2=8.910481&n3=17&a=40.921555,9.490643,44.4108,8.90753,44.410486,8.909805,44.456437,8.904033&b=0&c=0&k1=en-US&k2=km

If you want, you can add an issue describing the problem to our backend repository?

Hi Amandus,
I played around in the OSM editor and submitted a change that makes one of the harbor roads non-oneway. But know I think that this thing is the root problem. Along with this one they're said to be gates and gates can be opened. But the Algorithm doesn't seem to route through them. Could that be?
