I need to look for places in a very large area and i don't wanna trouble the Servers too much by dividing the area up. So what can i do?

Hey, I'm a total  beginner to this entire Topic, so sorry for possible stupid questions.

I was wring a python script in order to list all the shop:supermarkets in Berlin and i ran into this error:

openrouteservice.exceptions.ApiError: 500 ({u'message': u'Your polygon geometry is too large (4160318864.2996287 square meters), check the server restrictions.', u'code': 4008})

Somewhere on the servers they have all the Data I need and its quit pointless to look for it in a way in which i trouble the CPU of your Servers.
So i wanted to ask, if it would be possible to get those datasets directly from the openrouteservices files somehow.

I found this over at openstreetmap , meaning those Datasets have been analysed before:
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/WikiProject_Germany/Shops#shop.3Dsupermarket

If there is any way to download that data regarding the places dirctly, it would be a huge help to me if you could tell me how to do that. Thanks in advance!

If the only option is to divide up the Area in to little bits, i would also be open to anybody how might know how to do that.

Thanks in advance!

As you say: This is more an OpenStreetMap question and not really related to openrouteservice. OpenStreetMap provides the Overpass API for such kind of queries. You can try it out interactively at http://overpass-turbo.eu/.

As the error suggests, please use smaller polygons in the queries and aggregate the information thereafter.
