Hi,

I was using ORS to search for a place. The Place found was the correct one, but it was named with the wrong city name (“Frankfurt (Oder)” instead of “Frankfurt (Main)”). This applies to many search patterns I tested. For example: “Kennedyallee, Frankfurt”.

I was wondering what search engine ORS is using and if I should file a bug against https://github.com/GIScience/openrouteservice-app or against another project? In Nominatim the output is fine.

Best
Johannes

P.S.: thanks for the large amount of work for the OSM community and tooling :)

Hi Johannes,

thank you for pointing this out. So actually we use Pelias for geocoding - please open an issue there https://github.com/pelias/pelias -

Cheers

Hi Johannes,

are you using the API directly or via maps.openrouteservice.org ?

We are experiencing the same result as pelias

It looks like the label is incorrect though but apparently fixed in their development branch, so this will be respected.

If you are using our frontend, we will change the logic that the labels aren't used.

Cheers, Tim
