OpenROSA leadership-- please express interest by Jan 10, 2011

Hi everybody,
As most of you know, we’re planning to shift to new leadership for OpenROSA in early 2011. OpenROSA formed just a few years ago, but the term ‘mHealth’ was not even in wide use then. A tremendous number of new mobile projects, organizations, and consortiums have emerged on the scene since then. It’s time for new energy I think it’s wide open what the vision and mission of OpenROSA should be going forward.
I’m writing now to request that anybody with interest in potentially leading OpenROSA email me directly (neal...@gmail.com) by Monday, Jan 10. It can just be a short note to say you’re interested. There is no commitment necessary, and happy to discuss this with anybody. Depending on the level of interest we receive by Jan 10th, we’ll either hold elections or just form a leadership committee.
Unless there is an objection, I propose that the next leader(s) of OpenROSA serve for at least a 2 year term. The new leaders will have my support, of course, as is helpful.
Please also let me know if you have any comments on how to manage the process of selecting new leadership or to manage the transition.
