Hi

We are in the process of testing a new 32-bit OpenRoad 6.2 Patch Level (p15567), and the display of our screens is slightly different to when we run it under our current standard patch, 32-bit OR 6.2 patch 15152.

Here is a screen-shot of the 2 versions running the same application against the same database on the same PC at the same time. The Left-side of the shot is the new patch, and it seems to be using a much finer font.  Why is that happening?

And the following screen shot has the newer patch displayed at the top. The display of the icons in the buttons on the newer patch is partially replicating the image within the button.  I’m guessing this is due to the use of a finer font or something like that, but the button remains the same size, so the Icon display within the button gets duplicated.

Does anyone have any answers as to why this is happening, and is there a simple change to have the Application when run under the newer patch level look exactly the same as with the older patch level?

Thanks

Darren

Darren,

If this is on Windows 10 or higher with a Display that has a scaling > 100% that is probably due to the fix for Bug 134864  included in patch  15438 (May 2019).

===

Bug 134864 OR-3434 (OPENROAD, WINDOWS)

On Windows 10 when using Display Scaling set to 125%

the OpenROAD frames may shrink and text become blurry

when calling a control of an external library with

DPI-awareness set to 'system'

===

Before the fix OpenROAD had the DPI-awareness set to 'unaware' that was changed in the fix.

I will check with colleagues but I am not sure how you can have the old behavior.

Regards,

Brigitte

Hi Brigitte

Thanks for the quick response. I’m using Windows 10, and the Display settings are as follows:

So what I’m seeing now is just standard for the new OR patch?

Cheers

Darren

Darren,

So I am pretty sure this is due to that change.

Yes this is the standard behavior.

It is supposed to be better for the eyes.

You may be missing the point - the button icons post-patch are no longer sized correctly so effectively this patch breaks existing apps visually. The side effect makes button icons tile in the available space.

Hi Paul, Darren

Yes, sorry I had looked only at the first screen shot with the TreeviewField.

I see now the different behavior for the second screenshot.

Do you mind opening an issue with support and/or send an export of that frame so we can have a better look at the change of behavior, I am not sure at that point if we are not facing two different problems.

Regards,

Brigitte.
