Capture.PNGHey Everyone,

I'm currently in the process of upgrading OpenREM from a previous version. I had OpenREM setup using the previous method. However, now I am stuck at the phase where I am unable to open the site. Just wondering if anyone else has seen the attached screenshot before and have had any experiencing troubleshooting it.

Thank you for your time,

Hi Dhrumil
I haven't seen that before, but I am not a Windows server user. What page were you trying to access - just the first page of the site?

I notice that you are going to a :8000 address - looking through the Windows install instructions for IIS I don't think that features? https://docs.openrem.org/en/latest/install_windows.html#configure-iis

Otherwise the two things I might suggest are
  1. Setting OpenREM into debug mode - this is in the local_settings.py file - I realise when looking that the current docs don't have good instructions for this on non-docker installs!
  2. Whether https://stackoverflow.com/questions/21603513/ has any clues.
Do any Windows users have any suggestions?

Kind regards

Ed

Hi,
I checked the problem a bit. Probably you do not have enabled anonymous authorisation in OpenREM IIS website. Please open IIS, find Website on left pane and click twice, then click Authorization twice and check whether Anonymous authorization is enabled. If not, just enable it on right pane and I think that's it.
I checked the problem if we change something in local_settings.py in Database field- we have got Error 500. If we not set "allowed host" we have error 400. Just for my and your curiosity ;)
I am not sure Ed, but deleting IIS_IUSR users from allowed users in folder mentioned in installation guide haven't changed anything in OpenREM work. Or I haven't get it yet.
Best regards,

Yes, I'm just trying to get access to the first page of the site. I tried Mateusz suggestion and yours Ed, and this got rid of previous error screen which is good. However, it looks like this now. Webpage1.PNG
I think I may be having trouble with the section involving "Populate OpenREM database and collate static files".
Code error.PNG
I haven't experienced this before. it mentioned something about the port failure and the connection being refused. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thank you,
Dhrumil

Dhrumil - did you do the rename step in the Upgrading to a new server box?
