Radiotherapy openREM installation

Hello all,

I have a query regarding openREM software. Can we install it in an Eclipse workstation, or do we need to install it in a VARIAN server?

And also, can you sendthe  software download link where we can download openREM software?

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Dear Dr Zakiya,

Thank you for your interest in OpenREM.

It does not matter exactly where you install OpenREM, although it is cleanest if you install it on its own server. Part of the OpenREM installation is a DICOM server which listens for incoming DICOM objects and then triggers useful data to be extracted into the OpenREM database. 

Our OpenREM system is installed on its own dedicated server. Our radiotherapy department has configured their CT simulator to automatically send the OpenREM server DICOM Radiation Dose Structured Reports at the end of each planning study. Radiotherapy have also configured their  Varian TrueBeam systems to send DICOM Radiation Dose Structured Reports for each cone-beam CT scan.
