Downloaded the latest version of OpenRefine but I cannot execute it because I get the message "it is from an unidentified developer". Not sure what I need to do to fix it. Any helper out there??

How to open apps not from Mac App Store

Open System Preferences.
Go to the Security & Privacy tab.
Click on the lockand enter your password so you can make changes.
Change the setting for 'Allow apps downloaded from' to 'App Store and
identified developers' from just App Store.

After I adjusted the System Preferences as mentioned by the last poster, I also had to complete other steps for it to install on Big Sur:

2.     Control-Click on the DMG installer file.

a.     Choose Open.

b.     A security message will pop up. Choose Open.

3.     The OpenRefine disk image will open on the desktop.

a.     Open your Applications folder in the Finder.

b.     Drag the OpenRefine app from the disk image to your Applications folder.

4.     Control-Click on the OpenRefine app in your Applications folder.

a.     A security message will pop up. Choose Cancel.

5.     Open your System Preferences.

a.     Open https://openrefine.org/download.html.

b.     It will say that OpenRefine was blocked.

c.     Click Open Anyway and then confirm to Open. This will save your preference to allow the OpenRefine app.

6.     OpenRefine should then open in your default browser.

7.     You can then unmount the OpenRefine disk image from your Desktop.

This would be awesome if someone could Edit our docs and add those steps for Mac users and submit the Pull Request!
