Just a nice little tip. If you want to generate data to play around with or demonstrate a concept, or if you want to provide testers or forum do-gooders with an example but can't use real data, then try the following website to quickly generate up to 100 rows of dummy data.

Thanks for the tips.  

Is random data generation something that folks would find useful in OpenRefine?  It seems like there enough dirty example data sets around to last a long time :-) but perhaps there are usecases where synthetic data is better.

Interesting. but the http://www.generatedata.com/ is open source and the mockaroo.com is not(It's more powerful and have more date types though).

Yeah, there's plenty of dirt out there, but it might not be exemplary of your data set -- it might not be the right kind of dirt. :-) So custom dirt can be useful from time to time.
