Hello everyone,
I was wondering if there is some onlince service that offers an installation of openrefine to be used on a good machine for a limited amount of time, for a fee.

My issue is that, for a limited time or just rarely, I have to use big files (hundreds thousands rows) and my laptop is not happy :-)
I'll try to install it on a server at work, but it's not that easy.

Do you know of any service like this?

Thanks

Andrea

There are a few commercial services like this. RefinePro is one. We should probably make a list on the wiki somewhere. I've also been thinking of making a docker image that anyone could run on AWS or the cloud service of their choice.

Andrea,  happy to discuss privately how RefinePro can help you.

Tom, there is already quite a few docker image available: https://hub.docker.com/search/?isAutomated=0&isOfficial=0&page=1&pullCount=0&q=openrefine&starCount=0  might be good to promote / link to them from the wiki or website.

Can you please explain it to me what does it mean?
From what I understand, if I had the skills I could create a docker and install there a openrefine installation. Am I wrong?

Hi Andrea,

Regarding the docker, some time ago I succesfully used the one provided by SpazioDati, https://github.com/SpazioDati/docker-openrefine

Lets say a docker is a portale package that includes an application (refine in this case) and makes it easy to run on different machines.

Hope this helps

Best

Christian
