Hi,

I have an excel where information of one person is in two cells, one (place+date+..)  below another (name+profession). Eg. imported to OpenRefine in one column A:

Anders Hindersson, arrendatorens tienere
* Ilomantsi 1667.02.05-06, gg1/713/15
Anders Hokansson, inspector, Liebelitz
* Ilomantsi 1667.09.24-25, gg1/817v/3

How in OpenRefine to move content of  by "*" starting information to a new column B right of column A ?

Result should be

Column A   Column B                                    Anders..    *Ilomantsi...

Then I can continue splitting information in each column etc.

Regards
Pekka

You should be able to use the 'Transpose' function for this I think
On Column A, click the drop down and choose 'Transpose->Transpose cells in rows to columns
In the pop up asking how many rows, type '2'
Click OK

This should give you the desired result
