Testing the UI for new features in v3.5

Is it possible to test the UI always in another workspace?

Because I user preferences that change the display, it makes some tests fails.

In particular, if I change the default pageSize (i.e. ui.browsing.pageSize = [50, 100]), the test will fail because it takes too much time.

Also, I'd like to code some tests for 3 features that are new in v3.4 and v3.5. It would need to changes the preferences, so it would be better in another workspace.
