To OpenRefine developers, Advisory committee, and Code for Society,

Just FYI, as part of our verbal transparency agreement;  I got the below email from Google News Initiative just now.  I will not request to be removed from the published list since it doesn't matter or hurt anything.

This does not affect any status for OpenRefine or Code for Society or the OpenRefine project.

They are simply notifying me that OpenRefine Foundation (a defunct org) will be listed on their upcoming report and published on the GNI website.

The reason is that OpenRefine Foundation was registered as a vendor for FY 2018 in order to collect the $100,000 donation from Google during that year, nothing more, nothing less.

We are reaching out to notify you that the Google News Initiative will be publishing a report covering the range of work we have done with news industry partners since the launch of the initiative in 2018, to be published on a section of the GNI website. As part of this report, we will link to a list of the partners that we have worked with over the course of the GNI.

As a partner in one of our GNI programs, we will include OpenRefine Foundation in the report. No other information on the project or program will be published in this list.

If you would like to be removed from this published list, please let us know by responding to this email. We will aim to respond to your request within 72 hours.
