Hi folks – we've seen some great progress over the past few years in adoption of Open Referral across the voluntary and public sectors in Britain, and we now have big news to share: the national government's Data Standards Authority has endorsed the use of Open Referral UK for publishing open data about services, and the NHS has written requirements for interoperability with Open Referral UK into their procurement policies for 'social prescribing' systems:

Thanks to Mike Thacker for sharing this news, and for his leadership in the UK network.

As Mike describes, we're now initiating a specification upgrade process to ensure that the UK can continue to localize HSDS while preserving core interoperability across networks. Let us know if you have any questions and/or would like to be involved!

onward,
~greg
