to A gathering place for the Open Rail Data community
Dear Open Rail Data Users,

Over the past couple of years, RDG and the DfT have been working hard to improve the availability of open data through the Rail Data Marketplace. We are now thinking about our future plans for open data, and to inform our decisions we want to better understand the impact of these open data efforts so far. We want to hear from you, the user community, about how you use open rail data, the projects you have been working on, and what the results have been.
We are particularly interested in case studies that could improve the passenger experience, operational performance, or cost efficiency on the railway (even if these are more experimental than operational at this stage). But we would love to hear about your project even if you don’t think it fits those categories. If you have a project you would like to tell us about, please share the details in the thread below, or privately with rail...@dft.gov.uk .  We appreciate all the work you have already put in to helping the open data community to flourish, and we look forward to hearing about your projects!

Warm regards,

The DfT Rail Data Policy team
