Hi all,

I recently received a maintenance notification from Darwin, indicating scheduled updates between 21:00 and 01:00 on Thursday, 7th August. The notification mentioned that these updates would affect MPLS connections. Could someone please clarify what MPLS refers to in this context?

Additionally, I've noticed that the messages from the Darwin PushPort-v16 interface have dropped to zero. Besides subscribing to emails from serviceportal.nationalrail.co.uk, is there any other way to be alerted about this event?

Thank you for your assistance.

MPLS is Multi-Protocol Label Switching, a service provider-level technology (uses LDP and BGP) to manage virtual network connections for clients over private connections.  But for Darwin, MPLS is one method of connecting to Darwin - others include a site-to-site VPN, and the more common method, simply over the Internet.

NRDP uses a connection through the Internet, so don't worry about the planned works.

If this is Darwin via NRDP, contact CACI Support.  It looks like their client disconnected about 45 minutes ago, affecting all Open Data users.
