I'm not sure how to treat the CRS/alpha code SPX (London St Pancras Intl). TIPLOCs STPX (associated with STP) and STPANCI (associated with SPX) are both regularly used in the SCHEDULE file. However, National Rail Enquiries and the rail company journey planners seem to behave as if SPX were the same station as STP (e.g., http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/timesandfares/STP/RAM/280713/1030/dep versus http://brtimes.com/#board?stn=STP&filt=RAM&show=dep&date=20130728 - "no departures" message of the latter site reflects data in SCHEDULE). Should SPX be treated as an alias for STP? If so, should SPX inherit STP's change times and links (walk, Tube etc.) from the ATOC MSN and ALF/FLF files? Are there other stations like this?

Hi Nathan
I am not 100% sure that SPX is actually used, and I think everything's
covered under CRS code 'STP'.

'SPX' could just be a CRS code for a non-passenger location, just as XOD
is Ledburn Junction (on the WCML near Leighton Buzzard). Not sure what
TIPLOCs you might associate with it - maybe just STPANCI?

Peter,

Specifically, in the SCHEDULE file, I am seeing a "P" schedule with a train_uid of W42525 applicable from 2012-12-09 to 2013-12-01, running on Sundays, that is not overlayed or cancelled. The location origin for this schedule has tiploc_code "STPANCI". Looking at CORPUS, TIPLOC "STPANCI" is associated with 3ALPHA "SPX". However, OpenTrainTimes (http://www.opentraintimes.com/location/STP/to/RAM/2013-07-28/1030) has this schedule originating at "STP". How does "STPANCI" become "STP"?

Thanks,

Nathan

Hi Nathan,

STPANCI is an alias of STPADOM (STP). STPANCI is the international tiploc and STPADOM is domestic one.

I really appreciate the response. From what information did you work out that STPANCI is an alias of STPADOM? Is it because they have the same STANOX?
