Hi,
can anyone explain to me the difference between Darwin and Tiger?
Is there a difference in the time the information is provided? For example the information on the platform number... who gives it first?
Thanks
Best Regards
Mariella

Hi Mariella

Tiger uses data pushed from the CIS (LICC) at stations.  Providing the CIS is connected to Darwin and pushing platform information, the platform number should appear on both the screens at the station *and* in Darwin within a short period of time - usually a second or two.  Where a CIS isn't connected to Darwin (which should be the exception), the platform will show on the Tiger feed before it shows up on Darwin.

Hi Peter,
thanks for your clear explanation.
Is the list of CISs that do not send information to Darwin known?
Is there a reason why a CIS shouldn't send data to Darwin?
Thanks
Best Regards
Mariella

Hi Mariella

All CIS send data in to Darwin - but there are times where some are disconnected for reasons such as a communications failure, a software fault or maintenance work.
