Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone was able to help me with three things for now.

1. Track Circuits - I'm trying to collect the location information for track circuits/axle counters for the whole network. Has anyone come across this information? (ELR, TID, Miles from/to etc.)

2. TIPLOCS - I'm also trying to gather a national set of TIPLOC location information (ELR, TID, Miles from/to etc.)

3. Signal Berths - Lastly for now, I want to collect a national set of signal berths. I want to be able to associate the signal berth to the signal itself e.g. signal berth XYZ is associated to signal KP390.

Thank you all in advance.

Kind regards

Raheel

Hi,

As far as I'm aware comprehensive and accurate datasets like what you are asking for are thin on the ground.  For TIPLOCs I assume you are needing more information than is in or can be derived from the location reference data? For signal berths I harvest them from the TD feed, along with the signal events.  For ?fun? I've some code which attempts to pattern match to get the signal to berth step associations. For simple areas (e.g. Lancing) where there are only route set events it works well, but in more complex areas there is too much activity for the current algorithm.  When I've finished some other stuff I'll get back to it. (If anyone does have a comprehensive set of berth-step to signal event associations feel free to spoil my fun at trying to do it algorithmically.)

There are sites with excellent track and signal maps (e.g. www.railcam.uk) so it must be possible one way or another.

Thanks Russell. I may have to gather mutilple sets of information from different people who have this information for their areas. I'm also looking at trying to access digital data which may have or has been used to programme interlockings. Let's see how that goes. It may be difficult as the organisations that own the data may put a heafty price against the data set.
Thanks again and I'm sure I'll be back with more questions.
