Can USGS ComCat magSource=us be treated as NEIC/PDE for Mw conversion?

Hello,

I am homogenizing an earthquake catalogue for PSHA. In the USGS ComCat data, I have 2,632 mb/Ms observations with magSource = us.

USGS documentation links the US catalogue/contributor to the USGS National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC), PDE. I am using published NEIC-specific -to- relations from Kumar et al. (2020), Das & Meneses (2021), and Scordilis (2006).

My question is:

Is it scientifically acceptable to treat ComCat magSource = us values as NEIC/PDE magnitudes and apply those NEIC-specific conversion equations, provided all published magnitude, depth, and geographic limits are satisfied?

Or should us be treated as a separate magnitude stream unless exact methodological equivalence is documented?

Thank you.
