Hallo Everyone
I run PSHA using input vs30 measured for calculate PGA on surface
the result is well. However I still confuse how vs30 can quantified amplification factor until get PGA on surface.

whether the amplification factor get in GMPE or how??

Hi!
If I have understood your question correctly, you are giving a measured Vs30 value to calculate PGA on the surface. GMPEs in recent times have an inbuilt site amplification model which requires mostly Vs30 alone and in some GMPEs Z1.0 and z2.5 as the input parameters. When you define the site condition using Vs30 as the input, the GMPE calculates the IM for the given site.

Hope this helps!

Shreyasvi

Hi,

please read some basic book/paper about ground motion prediction to understand the concepts.

Vs30 as time-averaged shear wave velocity in top 30m of the subsurface is a proxy=correlates
with ground motion amplification, so is used in the ground motion prediction equations to estimate
amplification. GMPE inputs typically are fault configuration, magnitude, source-site distance, Vs30, basin depth, ...
output is/are the estimated ground motion(s) - amplified considering Vs30 and other factors.
