Hi,

I'm getting the following error when I try to import appliance in VirtualBox. I've tried re-downloading the .ova file, reinstalling virtual box and installing a previous version of vitual box with no success. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Dear Jenni,

the error means that the OVA image is corrupted, so probably the download did not went well.

After you have download the OVA file you can check that the download is not corrupted checking the file SHA1 hashsum (see this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/889768 on how to do that) and comparing the result with the content of this file http://www.globalquakemodel.org/ova/1.4/SHA1SUM

If you have download the OVA from https://ftp.openquake.org/oq-1.4/, you can try downloading the OVA from this alternative location https://ftp.openquake.org/oq-1.4/ and vice-versa.

Best,
Daniele

Thanks Daniele,

The file is definitely corrupt as the SHA1 hashsums don't match. Where ever I download from it tells me I'm downloading a 2.1 Gb file when I think it should be 2.26 Gb so I guess that is where the error is coming from. I'm not sure how else to try and download the file. I assume the problem is at my end so I tried changing a few things like disabling the anti-virus software.
