Ground Motion Database

I am reading smtk-manual and there is a section regarding GM database. There are lists of required inputs, but I am not able to crack the exact process of creating a database of my own. Can anyone help me with any examples(python) for creating our own ground motion database? Apart from some identifier for each GMs and their records(x, y, z and time period), are other attributes compulsory?
