Version 3.24 is the culmination of 9 months of work involving around
510 pull requests. It is aimed at users wanting the latest features,
bug fixes and maximum performance. Users valuing stability may want to
stay with the LTS release instead (currently at version 3.23.4).

The complete set of changes is listed in the changelog:

https://github.com/gem/oq-engine/blob/engine-3.24/debian/changelog

A summary of the new features and optimizations is given here:

https://docs.openquake.org/oq-engine/3.24/manual/release-notes/whats-new-3.24.html

You can install on all supported platforms (Linux, Windows, macOS) by
using the universal installer:

https://github.com/gem/oq-engine/blob/engine-3.22/doc/installing/universal.md

Windows user may prefer the native installer

https://downloads.openquake.org/pkgs/windows/oq-engine/OpenQuake_Engine_3.24.1-1-no-toolkit.exe

The OpenQuake engine manual is available here:

https://docs.openquake.org/oq-engine/3.24/manual/getting-started/index.html

Before installing the new release you should uninstall the previous
release, if you have one. As always, before upgrading, you should export any
output of interests, since exporting an output computed with an older
version of the engine may raise an error. Moreover, it is generally
not possible to run a risk calculation starting from a hazard computed
with an older version.

That's all, please let us know if you have any trouble with the upgrade.
