Warning, Big Sur users

I want to remind all users that the latest macOS "Big Sur" is not officially supported by  GEM. 

The reason it that GitHub is not able to produce a stable virtual machine with BigSur, so we cannot test the engine automatically on that platform.

Also, we have no idea if the engine works on the new M1 CPU because we do not have a mac with the new CPU.

If you are worrying about migrating to Big Sur, please don't.

Some people in GEM are using Big Sur with an Intel CPU and the engine seems to be

working but we do not guaranteed that.

We have updated the installation instructions for macOS:

We recommend to use the new installation script install.py and not the old

self-installing binary.
