Dear Thomas,
I am forwarding your email the OpenQuake developers mailing list, who should be able to support you better for installation issues.
Thanks,
Helen

Oggetto: Installing OpenQuake on Debian

Dear all,
I'm trying to install OpenQuake on my Debian Wheezy (unstable).
I tried to use the ppa of ubuntu, but obviously it doesn't work since Wheezy is not a distribution of ubuntu:

W: Impossible de récupérer http://ppa.launchpad.net/openquake/ppa/ubuntu/dists/wheezy/main/source/Sources  404  Not Found

What are my options?

Thanks,

Thomas.

Hi Thomas,

The short answer is, we don't have a package for Debian. At the moment, the only platform we officially support is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

You could, however, try to install on Debian the package we have prepared; it should work, though I will let the other developers comment if that is not correct. Again, this is not officially supported, so do this at your own discretion. See: https://github.com/gem/oq-engine/wiki/Ubuntu-12.04.

I hope that helps.

Lars
