This is my first post.......I am an OLD PICK guy....and we used PROC's
to create a menu....OpenQM would prefer that PROC's not be
used......so I used the MED tool to create my starting menu. Now I
don't know where to place the menu..... I need it to display
immediately after user account login.......I would appreciate any
help......I've been out of the programming business for a
while.......and my new company has grown enough to where I need to
write some in-house software..............Thanks

QM uses the MD/VOC item 'LOGIN' whereas mvBASE, D3 would have used the MD item 'ACCOUNTNAME' (ie whatever the account name you just logged in to)

Hi Darryl,

The menu itself should preferably go in the VOC butit can be put in another
file with a remote pointer (R-type record) in the VOC instead. This latter
approach has the advantage of allowing a central menu file that can be
accessed from multiple accounts if that is useful.

To make the menu display when the user logs in, simply reference it from the
LOGIN paragraph. There is no reason why you can't make the LOGIN record the
actual menu but usually you would want to do other things too.

So, to summarise,
1. Use MED to create your menu in the VOC called, for example, LOGIN.MENU

2. Create a LOGIN paragraph something like
1: PA
2: things you want to do before the menu
3: LOGIN.MENU
