Wasn't Doug D. working on a new version of Coyote? Does anyone have a
status update?

Kevin,

Doug has not been doing very much with Coyote because he is focussed on
our new software product - Managed Flash Technology (MFT) - which
accelerates the speed of random writes to storage devices by between
100-fold and 1,000-fold. Given that this product can speed up the disk
IO of any computer by up to 60-fold today versus the output of a 15,000
rpm SAS or SCSI drive, we think that project is more important. You can
read about it here: http://ManagedFlash.com

For all of you, we are now about 3 days away from having Beta-2 for the
Windows version of this product. When this is out, a lot of people will
be able to speed up the performance of their laptops and servers at a
very affordable price - often at below the cost of Enterprise Hard Disks.

FWIW, I have been working on an update of the GPL version for my own
use. I've fixed a few bugs (like the "couldn't compile but now hangs
the browser" error) and - perhaps the biggest change - removed the PIC
and some of the CCall stuff and replaced it with a FastCGI interface.
It now can run behind any web server that has FastCGI support. It can
still have native "web server" like support by a single module
compiled for whatever version of Pick it's running on as long as that
"Pick" has native support for sockets in Basic (like OpenQM, Universe,
etc.)

If there is enough interest, perhaps I can make it GPL-releasable. Let
me know if anyone else wants more details.

The subject just came up on Slashdot, so I mentioned managedflash.com.
Hope you're server is ready...
