Hi everyone.
Thanks to those who replied. I understand what has happened here. I believe items of type k are keywords, and I think I didn't have the keyword text in my older install but upgrading has brought this. But it has replaced the text item that was already in my voc. I recall being prompted about this during the upgrade but at the time I didn't understand what it was doing. So yes I have recreated the text file using another name.

TEXT is a keyword that can be used with the COPY command.
To restore access to the directory file, you will need to create a new file
pointer in the VOC (named TEXT-DIR as suggested above). This will need to
look like this:
F
Path/To/OSFile
Note that the OSFile does not need to be named the same as your VOC entry -
but it helps if they are the same.
