Hi everyone.

While installing an upgrade to OpenQM, it did various upgrade things including something to a directory file I have. I didn't pay much attention while the upgrade ran.

I had a file called text which was a directory file that gave access to a Windows text file. Now that file won't open. I lookkkkkkkkkked at the item called text in the md and it just shows as attribute 1 = k, and attribute 2 = 229. I'm now exploring the latest help file but it would help if someone Can briefly explain what has happened here.

Thank you.

I am on openQM version 4.0-5
I see what you mean.
Here is my VOC TEXT item
<01> K
<02> 229

Not sure what it does. I would suggest you rename your directoryTEXT-DIR,for example, and move on.

TEXT is a keyword that can be used with the COPY command.

To restore access to the directory file, you will need to create a new file pointer in the VOC (named TEXT-DIR as suggested above). This will need to look like this:

F
Path/To/OSFile

Note that the OSFile does not need to be named the same as your VOC entry - but it helps if they are the same.

Cheers,

Brian

Hi everyone.

Thanks to those who replied. I understand what has happened here. I believe items of type k are keywords, and I think I didn't have the keyword text in my older install but upgrading has brought this. But it has replaced the text item that was already in my voc. I recall being prompted about this during the upgrade but at the time I didn't understand what it was doing. So yes I have recreated the text file using another name.

Cheers.
