Inserting picture in cell

Is there a way to insert an image into the a cell the same way you would do it in Excel by going to Insert > Picture > Place in Cell (as opposed to Place over cells)? I think the existing add_image() function only places an image over cells, but is there one that functions like xlswriter's embed_image()?
