Hi all,

I just found the group today - looks fascinating. To introduce
myself, I'm a CAD consultant, making 3D digital models that get
"grown" or milled. I'm not an amputee, but my oldest brother is (ATE,
ATK, same side). He and I have been talking about a new hand for him
& that led me here.

I have access to a small CNC mill, and I am familiar with rapid
prototyping. I'd love to get involved in some prosthetics projects.
If anyone needs CAD work (complex or simple) please feel free to
contact me at decATrocketmail.com (obviously replace AT with @).

Best,

Hello Declan,

You may be surprised to learn that your skills could be very useful to
the field of Prosthetics. As a matter of fact you could make a career
out of it. However to proceed you need to team up with a Prosthetist
to serve the upper and lower limb amputees. Another perhaps more
interesting area in Prosthetics is Anaplastology which could really
challenge you. Could you browse on the two areas and get back with
your impressions.
