If you were a transfemoral amputee wearing a prosthesis, you would be
carrying very little weight load through your femur and hip joint.
(The dynamic forces of walking are another issue.) For an AK amp,
floor reaction is transferred to the skeleton primarily through
(compressed) soft tissue and through the ischial tuberosity and
related areas of the pelvis. These same principles are used in the
ischial-weightbearing orthosis and its relative, the "femoral fracture
brace." The femoral section of an HKAFO can be designed very similar
to a TF prosthetic socket. It sounds to me like your "buttock-
weightbearing" brace does not incorporate the necessary features.
