Hello,
I am a Sculptor who has been creating life like restorations since
1969. By 1973 I realized that functional restoration prostheses were
sort of standardized for above wrist amputations, whereas for partial
hand loss there were no ready made solutions.

Of course as I said initially my main concern was the aesthetics. Thus
for partial hand loss I would custom design a glove. However for those
who were keen on functional restoration, I did try to design something
specially for them. In some cases, I'd use wrist flexion/extension or
pronation/supination to activate the digits. In others I'd design
direct tool fixtures.

It seems a fact that while worldwide, the restoration of arm
amputation has been standardized in the prostheses provided, be it
myoelectric or primitive, but for partial hand loss each case needs to
be considered on its own merits in terms of whats remnant.

I've uploaded one such case of left hand partial loss, and would
really appreciate your ideas. He is young and in university. He is
keen on an IT profession. See for yourself.

Thanks
