Use the latest Arduino IDE to build the firmware and upload it to the Arduino Nano Every microcontroller. Edit config.h to select the board you are using. Uncomment the #define DEBUG line to get debug data sent to the serial port.
After uploading the firmware, open the Arduino Serial Monitor and verify that you see the sign-on message.
