Build up Schulz Feeder with PCB Board

Hello 

I want to use the 2x8mm Feeder. 
I have the Chance to get some of them. 
I want to use this PCB: https://groups.google.com/g/openpnp
I order 4 PCBs complete assembled. You only need an Arduino in addition and the feeders of yourse.  If you want i can prepare complete inkl. Arduino. 

Has someone interest in get such a board and maybe feeders ? (only Germany)

The delivery of the PCB  will take one month. Feeder are available.

I have Schultz Feeder controller from Bill -  tested for Nano Every.  Nano 3.0 should work as well.

HI Mike

Exactly that one i wnat to use. I ordered it assembled at PCBWAY. 

Can you make a short VIdeo of how to adress the feeder and to use it in open pnp ? Which settings are to do ? 
I have seen they are already implemented. But what settings have to be done ?

There are instructions made and detail description for use with OpenPnP here:

Use the latest Arduino IDE to build the firmware and upload it to the Arduino Nano Every microcontroller. Edit config.h to select the board you are using. Uncomment the #define DEBUG line to get debug data sent to the serial port.

After uploading the firmware, open the Arduino Serial Monitor and verify that you see the sign-on message.

If this is not enough ask the group here.

Thank you.

I build an configure and flashed it. 
Message in Monitor-> Controller started, Controller ready. --> Works !
Create actuators. 
There i am confused. In the new Verison are already Schultz Feeders in open PNP are diretcly availabe. Why do i have to make somethink in XML files ? Is it necessary ? 

Wiring is clear. 

Same for creating feeder. It is available i think.

I am sorry for ansearing late, i was ill. 
What is status: I have ordered the PCB at PCBway. I can sell 3 of them if someone in germany is interrested. If neccessary i can add the Arduiano Nano and flash it. Just send me an email.

I use the actual OPEN pnp Version (i think its called Test) and there are Schultz feeder available. This i attached. 
I attached the Arduino Nano and compiled it for simulate. But it did not work. Why do i have to copy to xml something ? 
It is not clear for me what to do to get this feeder working ?? I read the manual but get problems by copying the code in the opn pnp xml folders.......
Can somebody maybe make a short video of it  ? (when Board is connected, how to get t work and test it) ?

Andy that is just a basic. 
1st add G-code Schultz driver for feeders - see enclosed. 

You need to add feeders - as many as you have: 
-  to Machine setup with all details, .... see enclosed..

Hi 
I add the Drive (and it is connected to USB). Then it will be detected correct (i hope) --> See attached .
But i did not have the actuators in Gcode as you have ?! It is empty ?

Hi 
I have just a testsystem on this PC in the Office for test. I flashed the aruino with simulation (#debug). There is no real feeder connected. I though this must work for simulation feeder and test how it works. 
In the garage i have a system working with smoothieboard and the strip feeders. Now i want to go to Schutlz Feeder.

Well if you know how to add stip feeders you add Schultz the same way, Just do not forget Gcode driver !

Is this one good for OpenPNP?

Yes  Siemens Schultz feeders 2x8 - they work with OpenPnP - you will need a controller = see Here

Most of the 0402 components come on a tape with 2mm pitch - and with Schultz 2x8 Siplace SII feeders you can adjust 4mm or 2mm tape advancing...

The feeders you shared look pretty used - do you think they will work good? This type looks very well engineered, but I would love to hear opinion of experienced user.

Is there any calibration needed? What about protocol - is it documented anywhere or I should study the code of controller?

- For the quality of used feeders you will need to contact the seller.

Used
Used, good condition, serviced, calibrated

I purchased some feeders from them and they came calibrated and in very good condition (from my point of view- very old and looking great).

Can you please tell me what versions are supported?
00141096-02 (2x8mm)

What about other feeders?
3x8mm?
12/16mm?
24/32mm?

As far as I know only Siemens Schultz feeders - all sizes  ( 2x 8,12,16 ..this are double line feeders) are supported.

Is the document showed in the video accessible anywhere? I cannot find it.

Me and my colleague can work on the reverse engineering of 3x8 unit, but would be great to have some start point.

Yes, but there is no reverse engineering files - the description of EEPROM etc which is showed in the video - or am I missing something?

To my understanding you would need to add only the 3rd feeder to the two existing feeders in this linked Siplace Feeder code. 
If you could do it that would be great!!

Yes, I saw the arduino source files - they are great start, but in the video they showed some Word document which was describing EEPROM structure.

Probably not shared anywhere. I will try to contact them directly so we can continue on their great job!
