Hello,
i am new here. I want to build a OpenPnP for some hobby use. It starts at a point where i want to buld a Manual PnP like those from Fritsch or so.
And then i go in my mind more an more toward a OpenPNP :)

I read a lot in the Internet and know it can handle my Boxed Parts with Heap Feders or so. Is it possible to use something like a Turntable or Slide to extend the workspace?

Next: How big should it be? I want to stay in a drawer in my Office - so make it sense to go to something around 50x50cm? My 962 Oven is also not that big. They say 18x23 cm - but thats optimistic. Normaly my PCBs are smaller than 100x100 - so if it spends place for 100x200 it would be enough.
I Have a 350x350mm Voron Trident 3D Printer Build and now it is in my Mind: Why not the same Size?

Then the next question: Why not CoreXY? Then i can build 1:1 the Vorons Top Part :)

Many Questions - but i haven't found answers in WWW.
Maybe you can Help me :)

Sure there is some way to use a slide or turntable to extend the machine.

Size is up to you. We are not really able to help you there. How big is the drawer you want it to fit into? How big are the PCB's you think you will assemble? How many different parts do you think you need to have for any PCB build. These are all questions we simply can not answer It is up to you.
Sounds like you already have the answers to these.

Start with trident 350 size - or V2.4 maybe. You can model from there and see if the fit will work

core XY will work, but I am sure the biggest reason it is not used here is belt length. The longer it is the more it will bounce when you stop. The head on a PNP is much heavier than a printer head. You could enev look at something like a Tridex frame that is wider than it is deep.

Thank you - so i go to my design.
My Favorite Size would be 70x48 cm. I use MGN12 and 40x20 Bosch Profile.
I also skip the Core XY in case of weight and go back to a Gantry Design.

To shorten everything i redraw the Belt Tension Unit from Picoplacer - what do you think? I'll print the 3D Parts in ASA.

But i think i need a Redraw because the Motor Pully is under 90° Contatpoint to the Belt - better would be 120° and more - or?

Maybe i reinvent the Wheel - so do you have some short Tension-Designs in your mind?
