Hello,
Very new to the pnp world. I recently bought a charmhigh T36va. Fedup of the software, I started with the smoothieware path.
Done with all the flashing and encountering the kernal issues etc(Yet to be worked on). One thing that I cant seem to solve is opening the already generated machine.xml for T36VA. I am using the latest openpnp version(b2389cd).

What happens when you try to start that version of OpenPnP?

Hi San!
I just tested it and can not see any issues: downloaded it as raw file,
placed it in .openpnp2, renamed it to "machine.xml" and started the
latest OpenPnP version. I can only see the expected complains that other
files (like parts.xml or vision-settings.xml) are not found and will be
replaced with defaults and that the cameras could not be opened. Please
try again and report.
Btw: machine.xml files can not be downgraded and will be updated to the
version they have been opened with last. Therefore this one works with
all current versions of OpenPnP (testing and stable) and many older (not
recommended) versions. If you ever opened it with a test version, the
then updated will not work with the current stable version. (If you need
that, restart from the original GitHub version.)

HI Tony, Jan,
Thanks for your replies. Below are the error message and version respectively.
At this point I have manually copied the values from the xml file to the latest openPnP version.
It was painful and long but I learnt a lot in the process. However, I am not sure why you are not seeing this issue. Might help to see what is going so that someone new can benefit.
I did manage to do all the calibration and frankly I am quite impressed with the process.
I did end up in some vision issues after the advanced camera calibration. I will start another thread for this.

Hi San!
This error happens when you try to downgrade and is cased by the fact,
that the xml parser can not ignore elements it does not understand. You
may remove the element and retry.
Out of curiosity: where is the element coming from? I don't see it in
the file I downloaded and I can't find a corresponding variable in the
current code base.
