Hi,

So I am still using my light ring from the LitePlacer and its just not cutting it.

After looking around a bit I can't seem to find any good bottom lights or even small tutorials on how to make / adapt one.

Does anyone have any good recommendations or guides? :)

Thanks Mike!

I did end up making my own instead - I found some 12 LED rings laying around, so I took some inspiration from other posts on here :)

40 mm fan added for some cooling, since the LEDs to get quite hot under the diffusers.

Potato quality, but should hopefully show the result well enough :)

Hi Mike,

Following is a picture takes of a 0603 resistor:

I am giving the LEDs 9 volts, because otherwise it will be too bright.

I am having a slight problem with the nozzle tip showing up in the vision though .. the CV seems to like the edges of the nozzle.
Any idea how I could potentially get around that? I tried darkening it, but that ended up a mess so I cleaned it off again.

Clean black cover from nozzle tip to get a white bottom surface ( I use very fine sand paper) try it ..

Sorry if you’ve already tried this, but what worked for me was redefining the package footprint and tweaking the camera brightness/contrast until it recognized the part cleanly.

It also helped to close the curtains and keep the room lighting as consistent as possible.

Thank you all for chipping in!

It would seem my diffusal wasn't quite up to standard - temporarily adding a few pieces of white paper over the LEDs diffusers got the light to where it needs to be.

I will have to figure out a better long term solution, but it will work for now :)
