Hi,

I don't know how many Lumenpnp users are reading here in the openpnp
group ?!

Maybe of interest: During my first setup and tooling up of the lumenpnp
I found out, that the photon feeders could not transport
0603 capacitors, which are only oderable as paper film - ups did not
expected this ;-O

The thickness of the parts and the paper is minimum more than that of
0603 resistors.

As a solution I replaced the metal transport wheel of the photon feeder
by a plastic wheel, see attached picture.

This wheel has smaller and rounded pins and prevents stucking in the tape.

Interesting design, do you know how it calculates the angle of sprocket rotation?

They are using N20 motor with encoder

So if the angle of the sprocket is incorrect, there is no feedback?

Most likely no.
I am using these motors for other purposes. They do have some clearance, however if you drive it only one direction - it may work somehow.
But not as good as straightforward encoder on the wheel.

The design has room for improvements, the encoder is on the axis
of the motor on the right. The gear of the motor itself
leads to an angle offset when changing direction of rotation (sorry for
my bad english ;-))

I wonder how this should work with 0402 parts - I am in doubt - but
it is not the tech I intend to use it for...

I just was glad I coould instal a plastic part instead
of the metal wheel.

The metal wheel was just a 2D fabricated part lile laser cutting
or very fine CNC mil.

At the moment it seems to work good enough.
