Hello,
It would seem that Yamaha CL feeders are common for many OpenPNP machines.
Where is the best place to buy them. I am in the UK, but the suppliers I have seen, are very expensive.
Is their a good lower cost off the shelf alternative?

I am in the early stages (I know, its a long project!) of designing my frame, but I need to consider what feeders I may end up using.

Any thought of this would be really helpful.

Thanks
Paul

Our OpenPnP project also uses Yamaha CL Feeder both Electric and Pneumatic, if you need support, you can contact us, www.afarco.vn

Hi Paul

I purchased from here.
Shipping to the UK can be very expensive....

The mounting plates for CL feeders are few and expensive options to purchase.
I make them myself and use them for my CL feeders.
The repository also provides instructions for integration into OpenPnP, so if you are interested, check out the repository.

thank you
Ryosuke

Yamaha's pneumatic feeders have all been phased out in China, and the price of second-hand goods has dropped to $10, but second-hand goods are not allowed to be imported in many countries.

Hi  Ryosuke

I came across your repository and wanted to thank you for sharing this, its really useful for me. I'm currently evaluating to switch to Yamaha CL feeders but dont really have time to design my own base plate.

Could you share which valves you are using in your system? Any recommendation or some features / specs I should be looking for?

Thank you
Dominik

Hello Dominik,

I apologize for the delayed response. I'd like to answer the questions you sent me.

Thank you for your interest in the repository concerning the CL feeder and its control. I have merely compiled a reproducible method based on the advice I received from this community, but I would be very happy if more people learn how to expand the hardware for OpenPnP through this information.

When using a CL feeder, you need to prepare compressed air at around 0.5Mpa and a solenoid valve that can switch between compressed air and atmospheric release.
I am using the VQD1151W series from SMC Corporation. However, if I try to purchase all of these new, they are very expensive.
I have gathered 32-port solenoid valves as used parts.

For example, I think these solenoid valves could be useful.

thanks,
Ryosuke
