Yes this is a known issue when the USB connection is lost, or
congested (two cameras on same root hub), or if the camera
otherwise fails to deliver frames, after the camera stream
itself was successfully opened.
It should only affect the Test button, which merely serves to measures FPS. And therefore is not be relevant for routine operation ... that's why it yet remains to be fixed. 😅

I had that freeze a few times on Linux, now the first time on Windows 10. Notebook probably lost bottom camera (directly connected, no hub) due to some USB connection issues. I had to do an "END PROCESS" to close OpenPnP..
Last few Minutes log is attached.

I just merged it into the test version. I can also
confirm that it works with a functional OpenPnpCaptureCamera.
A test with a non-functional camera (one that is no longer
providing frames, e.g. after the USB has been disconnected) is
still missing, I hope @jbasia can do one.
