How to perform multiple picks per feed (2mm pitch, 4mm tape advance)?

Could someone please advise if this feeder logic is possible in OpenPnP?

I have an auto feeder that can physically advance the tape only by 4 mm per feed.
However, the tape contains 0402 components with a 2 mm pitch, so I need:

— the feeder to advance 4 mm
— OpenPnP to perform 2 picks between feeds (pick from two 2 mm cells)

So the required behavior is:
pick → pick → feed → pick → pick → feed

Without using scripts, firmware modifications, or push/pull head movement.

Is there any built-in way to configure this via feeder settings (ReferenceAutoFeeder / ReferenceStripFeeder or others), or is this not supported by OpenPnP?

Thanks.

If your feeder setup has one actuator per feeder (i.e. you have actuators named like "FeederSlot0Advance", you can use the ReferencePushPullFeeder setup with an actuator.
If your feeder setup has one actuator for a group of feeders and a numeric parameter (i.e. you have actuators named like "FeederAdvance" and then you supply the slot number), you can use the BambooFeederAutoVision. This I feel like is the more common concept.
Both feeders support separate Part Pitch and Feed Pitch. They'll "do the right thing" if you set your Part Pitch smaller than your Feed Pitch.

Here's how I have a BambooAutoVision setup for 0402 2mm parts with 4mm advance. This feeder is in my slot 5, hence the actuator setup.

When you set up "double picking" like this, you need to make sure you're setting up for the pocket closest to the reel, not the one closest to the end of the tape. Here's how mine is set up, you can see the crosshairs are set up over the "back" part (i.e. the second pick). The tape feeds from left-to-right for this feeder (and I drew a helpful arrow).

I'm pretty sure ReferenceStripFeeder can do that too, but it's designed for static strips, not auto feeders.

And what if I don't use vision for feeders. Because it takes up all the editing time. What if I don't have vision?

Sorry). I figured it out, thank you very much Kevin for the tip. Everything works fine. Finally I got rid of the stripfeeders.

Both feeders will backoff their vision checks if they detect little variance; you can also disable vision by setting "Vision Type" to None.
And of course you can set them up by entering or capturing the three locations for pick, hole 1, and hole 2 instead of using the vision assisted setup.
