Ethernet is known to be very slow (actually laggy) on Smoothieware firmware. So slow it is almost unusable for OpenPnP. Other firmwares/hardwares may be different.

No, don't go after high currents, they are useless
for Pick and Place. What you need is high voltage! For
Pick & Place we need the juice flowing at at high speeds, not
high torque at slow speeds (not a mill!). If you can design from
scratch, go for 60V!
