Ethernet uses in OpenPnP

Does anyone give the ethernet connector any use on their board?

I never used it but I don't know if it has any use.

I am designing a dedicated board for OpenPnP for high speed and high current. And years ago I never used ethernet for OpenPnP at all, but maybe someone will use it. At first I thought not to add it.

Ethernet is known to be very slow (actually laggy) on Smoothieware firmware. So slow it is almost unusable for OpenPnP. Other firmwares/hardwares may be different.

No, don't go after high currents, they are useless for Pick and Place. What you need is high voltage! For Pick & Place we need the juice flowing at at high speeds, not high torque at slow speeds (not a mill!). If you can design from scratch, go for 60V!

Thanks Mark,

Current is around 16~20A. Sorry, with "high current" I refered to the components in board, is a bit different. 

Voltage Max 45V, components support up to 63V but by the moment the tmc card that i have designed is up to 46V I guess up to 1.4A TMC2130-TA, by the moment, but support 3A~5A por slot for other motors models.  It's not the SilentStepStick format. SPI of course, all data transfer communication is in high speed, all digital.

Ethernet I don't think I'm going to put.
