Where does the Calibration Z Offset come from?

I've performed all calibrations successfully, but I wonder where the "Calibration Z Offset" of a certain nozzle comes from? Is it calculated, or do I have to perform further calibration to have the proper offset?
TIA, Jörg

You are talking about Contact Probing, right?

Does your machine have a Contact Probing Nozzle?

No, I don't have a contact probing nozzle. Strange thing is, that all nozzles have very different Calibration Z Offset value – probably no good idea to simply null them.

Then I don't know what you are talking about (?). Please send a screen shot.

I don't have access to the machine right now, so I did the screenshot with a demo install.

Aha, the nozzle tip calibration Z offset.

Have you read the tooltip?

See also here:

Usually this is zero. If you have something there, then you must have set it manually (I have checked in the source code, there is nothing setting it automatically).

If your machine.xml comes from a third party, maybe they set it.

Ahh, sorry for the confusion. Should have stated that it's the nozzles Z-calibration I'm talking about.
Thanks for clarifying, that it's not being set automatically! I will try to set all nozzle Z-offsets to zero. You're right, the basic setup came from a third party.
Thanks again,
Jörg
