BlindsFeeder versus Menlu/ReferenceStripFeeder

I've been using OpMenlu feeders.  They work fine, but the ability to 3d print a feeder for all the strips needed for a specific job is attractive.

Can anyone comment on how well they work?  I have some small, expensive parts ($3 each) in a 8 mm tape that I don't want hopping out like fleas.

Similarly for some expensive, 12 mm tape parts,  Tiny, but expensive.
