New PNP setup and testing PCB

For those of you not following the repo, we have posted a new setup and testing PCB. It expands on the great board Jason created and adds:
- Logical naming and placement conventions
- Bottom layer for complete test coverage
- Camera calibration square
- 1mm Ruler for calibration
The gerber files are posted for those of you who want to order some from a board shop. Additionally we will be ordering a bunch and putting them in our Tindie shop for those who would dont need them in bulk and would prefer to have them sent quicker. I'll follow with a link once we get them.

We dont use the board edge (as cuts may be inaccurate) but we measure off the 2 lines that join the ruler. We're making a couple minor modifications to the ruler as well to help identify camera distortion. Each tick is 1mm. I will post an updated image here in a minute.

There has been interest in BGA and LGA packages to add to the test PCB. Does anyone have a preferred part number for these two package styles. I can imagine that these packages are meant more for testing the re-flow process? You should already know that your machine is accurate based on other components placed I would think. So if we are testing what we can not see (under the chip) we probably need pins routed together in some fashion? I was thinking initially just connecting all the pins in series and leaving some test pads to ensure all pads are connected. This isn't very useful however because this could imply that the solder just shorted everything out (bad solder job). I could also break out each pin from the pads for testing. The best solution is probably finding an IC that performs a specific task and testing the performance of a specific part? Any ideas on what that should look like?

Talking of testing reflow what are people using for reflow? has any one seen an open source reflow oven?

Can some one say on this OpenPnP is possible open mount file , mnt and mnb ?
I have one pcb but not have board file on eagle only mnt and mnb files , on my old machine and openpnp that is be possible but on this cant found it?

I am using the t962 oven, together with some h.w mods and custom open source f/w. So far it has been working great, just started testing BGA packages and had some initial success.

Small modifications made to the ruler on the bottom layer, this will help aid in identifying image distortion and should make the ruler easier to understand. Each tick is 1mm. No BGA/LGA were added, if the consensus is that they need to be there we can add them to the next revision. For now I think we will lock this down design unless there are any glaring issues.

Boards are on their way, might be a little slow with the Chinese holiday, but I'll update this thread once they arrive.

Sorry these have been so slow arriving. What we thought would be a delayed timeline anyway due to the Chinese holiday turned into the board house we sent stuff off too, after 6 weeks, just giving up on the order and refunding our money. So we ordered another batch from a new place which are on their way.
We also took the opportunity to make some tweaks to the board which I think will make it even better. Silkscreen can be sloppy at times so we decided to make the ruler out of copper. We added in ticks at .5mm as well to give even finer resolution. Added some 0201's, ruler is now on top and bottom, among other enhancements.
- Changed ruler to copper
- Added .5mm spacing to ruler
- Added ruler to Top Layer so now it is on top and bottom
- Added 0201 components.
- Created new components named BOTTOM_RULER_ORIGIN and TOP_RULER_ORIGIN. Now they will show up in job list so you can zoom to them.
