Hi everyone,

I hope you’re doing well.

I am currently working on a Pick and Place (PnP) machine. I recently switched to a Smoothieboard 5XC V1.1 (ARM Cortex-M3) running SmoothieWare, following an overvoltage issue that fried my previous SKR PRO board.

I’ve encountered a problem that is affecting the precision of my PnP: whenever I enable the endstops in the configuration, the axis movement loses its smoothness and becomes jittery. This is particularly problematic for the high-speed, precise movements required for component placement.

Has anyone in the community experienced similar stuttering issues when endstops are active on this board? I would appreciate any guidance on firmware tweaks or configuration settings to ensure smooth motion while keeping the limit switches functional.

Best regards,

Mohammad Kadhim

I would sudjest to test with "Soft end stops" - in config you leave only homing exsample x+y to min and set up soft end stop values and test ...

That's a very strange problem I haven't seen in well over a decade of helping people with smoothie issue. Very odd.

Would you mind making a short video showing the problem and posting it to somewhere like youtube or any other kind of video sharing service that you can give a link to the video to?

And can you give any more detail, anything you can think of?

Thanks.
