hello sirs,

is it possible to use openpnp to do the following:

(1)the fiducial mark is on a rotating device which moves continuously
(2)top camera is fixed(does not move) over the fiducial mark and separate from rotating device, has a live view
(3)can we calibrate the fiducial mark ,its home position and x-y coordinates  & then
(3)use  openpnp software to track the fiducial mark real time on the rotating device and activate a actuator(servo) to offset any deviation from calibrated/home position continuously & automatically and also with manual override.

thanks

Not really, no.

Could you elaborate on what you're trying to do? It sounds like you're trying to trigger something each time the 'disc' rotates, in which case you have many, many better options:
  • Hall effect sensors
  • Variable reluctance sensors
  • Encoders (of various types)
It would certainly be possible using OpenCV with a continuous periodic image capture, and something like a simple template match in having masked off the rest of the image, so the recognition only happens when the target is in a desired window of the image.

continuou me explain.

We want to use openpnp for print mark register control( in printing application)
The camera locates the x, y coordinates of master print mark Or any fiducial tool and then, openpnp calculates position, deviation of 1 print mark with respect to 2 print mark, and the actuator moves to align with the master print mark .

This process to be done for achieving a good quality print output.

Thanks
