As you can see it takes very long from the moment I press the "power" button until the "home" button becomes yellow. 

When I try pronterface, smoothieboard always replies at once.
Do you ave any ideas?

Set the log level to TRACE on the log tab. Then send a fresh full log.

OK, first one failed. I also get this often and I have to ctrl+alt+delete

to my knowledge, something in the JAVA something or other changed at some point making the connect time REALLY slow!!. I remember this back in V1.0. It went form seconds to like you are seeing now. It is not board or computer dependent.

It is also not openPNP strictly speaking. It is something in JAVA I think. Or a library, or something.

It is possible this is not that issue, but I wanted to remind all about that.

This is certainly not normal.

There is also nothing to indicate it is waiting for something, these are all asynchronous communications.

I would look into system resources. RAM being exhausted or something. Check preview FPS in cameras etc.
