Part Off Vacuum Sensing

I've recently taken delivery of a PandaPlacer CC1 and I must say I'm very impressed.

I'm gradually going through setup and calibration but have a question about 'part off' vacuum sensing...

I kow that the vacuum valve opens to test that the part is not present and has been sucessfully placed but I'm a little confused over the open/close timings.

Are these min and max times for how long the valve is open and if so what initiates the valve opening and what causes it to close....also what determines when the vacuum measurment is taken?
