Open Platform
Office Space.
You in?

Dear all,

Exciting news! Open Platform is now part of the Artspace Lifespace project in Bedminster. We now have a physical space that we can call 'ours'.

For those with little time, the take-home message from this email is that we have this space and we're inviting all of you, the whole OP community, everyone, to join us this Tuesday to share the current state of play and ideas around the space, and to discuss what we want to use this space for. There is no commitment required from you if you want to be there this Tuesday. We really hope you'll join us.

As many of you know, Open Platform started 2 years ago to support people who wish to work within the sustainability / community / ethical sectors. At the beginning we provided free mentoring and practical support. We helped many people identify their natural talents, find worthy projects to work on, and in some cases get fledgling ideas off the ground. During that time we had access to an office space at Bush House where people could visit and work on projects together or separately. We also had our Tuesday sessions through which we built our community, the heart of Open Platform.

We are fortunate that our Tuesday sessions at Bush House are still there, providing space for people to meet, share ideas, collaborate and network. In addition, we have now managed to find affordable space in the new College project of Artspace Lifespace. This is an ex City of Bristol College site which is leased to Artspace Lifespace. They have plans to transform it into a haven of community and art projects. Being part of this project will enable us to offer so much more than we have been able to so far. You can find out some information about the Artspace Lifespace project through the following links:

This coming Tuesday we will explore ways in which we could use the new space to create a path towards our vision. This is a vision of a community where we are supported and feel confident to explore and build ways of living that honour ourselves, the other and the planet.

We can't make this happen without you and would be delighted to have you all there this Tuesday. There is no commitment required from you if you want to come. Your contributions, whether they are thoughts, deeds or just your presence, are much needed and appreciated.

Much love,

Daphne, Alastair, Helene, Eleanor, Tim, Amber, Dan
